Georgia Natural Resources Foundation

ABOUT THE GEORGIA NATURAL RESOURCES FOUNDATION

The Georgia Natural Resources Foundation was established in 2010 as a nonprofit organization to support the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The Foundation is a publicly supported organization that provides funding and assistance to DNR to enhance natural resource conservation, historic preservation, environmental education, and outdoor recreation. The Foundation was created following the passage of House Bill 1199 by the Georgia Legislature which was then signed by Governor Sonny Perdue in 2010 authorizing the creation of a nonprofit organization to support DNR.

MISSION

The mission of the Georgia Natural Resources Foundation is to support the efforts of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to sustain, enhance, protect and conserve Georgia's natural, historic and cultural resources for present and future generations, while recognizing the importance of promoting the development of commerce and industry that utilize sound environmental practices.

SUPPORT

The Foundation is seeking funding from individuals, corporations, and private foundations.  For more information, contact Lauren Curry.
